Louise E. Rettke received her undergraduate degree in Mental Retardation and Master"s in Reading from Illinois State University. She has worked with student teachers and student in the Illinois State University Special Education field-based program. Teaching Philosophy It is my privilege to be a teacher of teachers. Preparing teachers to meet the needs of students with challenging learning and behavior problems is our goal. Through the field-based experiences the students learn from university curriculum and hands on teaching experience. They develop the knowledge and experience to teach diverse learners with needs and goals. The guided practice prepares them for student teaching and ultimately the challenges of teaching their own classrooms
